I have many works in BookBound<\/a>, an exhibition focusing on artists’ books and printmaking at the Art and Culture Center\/Hollywood; the show will be up through August 21, 2022.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

My large-format book of individual pages, It Was to Be a Glittering City (a short story that I wrote), is installed on the left wall; the works are screenprint monotypes with solvent transfer. On the far end of the gallery is a wall installation of screenprinted posters by Kristin Thiele, and two gallery guests (my husband and daughter).<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

I have five works on the wall in the image above; they are the five unframed (hung from magnets) works that are rightmost on the wall. The works are a combination of printmaking techniques as well as some gouache and are all unique monotypes created without any digital processes whatsoever.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n

Additionally, I contributed some archival materials to the show from Turn-Based Press<\/a> and also from the DWNTWN ArtHouse<\/a>, which is the building in which Turn-Based Press used to be housed, along with BFI<\/a>, the TM Sisters<\/a>, and Dimensions Variable<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

BookBound: The Art of Books and Printmaking<\/strong><\/em> examines the book as a sculptural art object and the many forms of art expression found in printed matter. Recognizing the uniqueness of books through their drawings and design, this exhibition seeks to address the accessibility of publications, the \u201cspecialness\u201d of a rare art book, the myriad ways that illustration interprets words, and the history of education through visual imagery. <\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n
