My Miami, and My Past Life

This body of work is comprised of prints, drawings, and paintings. The works may be a commentary on Miami, or they may be landscape works. Sometimes they are also works made of places outside of Miami. Since landscape–the environment around us–is shaped by our collective social and political body, even the seemingly purely landscape works are about something besides beauty. The works which I consider part of the “My Past Life” series are ones which are primarily landscapes or abstracted landscapes which touch upon what we want, or what we wanted, from place, how we shape or shaped it, and what we’ve had, have, or lost. Landscape is one of the sites in which we locate our desire as people, as a people, and as a populace, and our dreams of what landscape may be, was, or what we wish it to be, speak very strongly.

Works will be added below, though perhaps not all of the works in this body/series, with the most recent first.
